LAS VEGAS (March 2022) – In April, The Underground speakeasy and distillery inside The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, will celebrate its four-year anniversary and will offer a variety of cocktail specials and weekly live music. Liquor Legends: A Night of Moonshine Tasting & Storytelling

Date: Wednesday, April 6

Time: 8 p.m.

Cost: $49 per person. Must be 21 years or older to participate.

Location: The Underground speakeasy and distillery

Description: Guests are invited to join The Mob Museum’s distillery manager David Vondrasek and director of education Claire White for a curated moonshine tasting. Attendees will learn the fascinating tales of America’s notorious bootleggers and moonshiners while tasting the Museum’s three house-distilled moonshine varieties. In addition, guests also will have the opportunity to taste a moonshine cocktail, an appetizer and two exclusive house-made infusions.

National Beer Day

Date: Thursday, April 7

Time: Noon to midnight

Cost: The Big Al Ale Beer is available for $8 on the regular menu. Guests can enjoy $2 off all draft beer on National Beer Day.

Location: The Underground speakeasy and distillery

Description: On April 7, 1933, the Cullen-Harrison Act was signed into law, reversing the prohibition on selling beer in the United States. The Underground invites guests to celebrate National Beer Day with its brand-new Big Al Ale Beer, which is a rich, and flavorful ale combining different levels of toasted malted barley. This refreshing in-house produced beverage is malty with a subtle hop finish. To celebrate National Beer Day, The Underground will offer discounts on draft beer all day.

Description: The Underground opened its doors on April 20, 2018. To commemorate its four-year anniversary, the speakeasy invites guests to a special roaring 20s celebration.

Description: The Underground invites guests to join Pernod-Ricard portfolio specialist and award-winning bartender Raul Faria as he introduces attendees to the Louisville, Kentucky-based Jefferson’s Bourbon. Known for its experimental blending and aging techniques, four of Jefferson’s expressions will be paired with luxurious chocolates from Jean-Marie Auboine Chocolatier.

The Underground Anniversary Cocktail

Date: Available beginning April 9

Time: Available Monday through Wednesday from noon to 10 p.m. and Thursday through Sunday from noon to midnight.

Description: To celebrate The Underground’s four-year anniversary on April 20, the speakeasy will offer a brand-new Passionfruit Hibiscus Giggle Water crafted with hibiscus infused vodka, passionfruit puree, Lillet Blanc, lemon juice and simple syrup.

Jefferson’s Bourbon Tasting Flight

ABOUT THE UNDERGROUND

The Underground is an immersive Prohibition history experiential exhibition, featuring a distillery, speakeasy and private VIP room located in the basement of The Mob Museum. Its custom-made, copper-pot still, dubbed “Virginia Still” after mobster Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel’s notorious girlfriend Virginia Hill, has a capacity of 60 gallons and can serve up to 250 750-mL jars of moonshine per week. The Underground also brews and serves craft beer onsite. Artifacts from the 1920s and 1930s on display tell the intriguing story of the Prohibition era, which not only saw a proliferation of bootlegged booze and the meteoric growth of organized crime outfits, but also had a profound, lasting impact on society and culture.
