LAS VEGAS (Sept. 10, 2026) – The award-winning Underground speakeasy and distillery at The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, announces the debut of 300 Stewart Reserve, a premium small-batch 100% corn straight bourbon whiskey, aged untouched for 37 months in new charred oak barrels. Available now, the exclusive release is limited to just 1,047 375mL bottles.
Representing an elevated 100% corn rendition of the spirit that was repackaged as “medicine” during Prohibition, 300 Stewart Reserve straight bourbon whiskey celebrates the craft of distilling, the repeal of the 18th Amendment and the Museum’s historic federal building at 300 Stewart Ave. in Downtown Las Vegas. Produced in The Underground’s on-site distillery, 300 Stewart Reserve 90-proof (45% ABV) straight bourbon whiskey is made from the finest cuts of its 100% non-GMO, food-grade corn mash. More than three years in new charred oak gives the bourbon a complex nose of apple and creamy caramel, while the palate reveals a finely balanced medley of cinnamon, apple pie, brown sugar, oak, honey and leather. Rich, silky and focused on the palate, 300 Stewart Reserve represents The Underground’s most refined spirit to date.
During the bourbon’s development, The Mob Museum enlisted wine and spirits expert Matt McColl to participate in a blind tasting of three prospective expressions. McColl, a sommelier at the James Beard Award-nominated Garagiste Wine Room and a WSET Level 4 diploma candidate, evaluated the spirits alongside an avid bourbon collector, who was enlisted to ensure a true blind tasting and evaluation. Tasting the samples, first neat, then with three to four drops of water added, both tasters independently selected the Museum’s charred oak barrel as the clear winner. The panel praised the bourbon for its immediate appeal and favored it over comparable small-batch bourbons, including Larceny Barrel Proof, Maker’s Mark Barrel Select and Chestnut Farms Single Barrel.
“Bourbon has a fascinating place in the story of Prohibition and greater American history, and producing our own straight bourbon whiskey at 300 Stewart gives us a unique way to bring that history to life,” said David Vondrasek, distillery manager, The Mob Museum. “When we first considered transforming our award-winning 100% corn moonshine into a bourbon, the answer was an easy yes. After three patient years, we are proud to bring this fabulous and unique product to market for bourbon fans to experience and add to their home bars.”
300 Stewart Reserve joins The Underground’s award-winning collection of house-distilled moonshine, along with house-brewed beer and craft cocktails inspired by the Prohibition era. The Underground’s distilling program has earned numerous industry accolades, including “Best Moonshine” at the 2020 International Whiskey Competition, “Best in Class,” double gold and silver medals at the 2024 American Distilling Institute’s International Spirits Competition and gold and silver medals at the 2022, 2023 and 2024 California Craft Spirits Competition.
On September 19, 2026, The Underground will host a 300 Stewart Reserve release celebration. Imbibers are encouraged to enjoy an evening of Jazz Age-inspired revelry with live music by Coco and The Sidecars and a specialty limited-time Gold Rush cocktail ($16), made with 300 Stewart Reserve, honey, lemon, and an optional egg white, available now until September 20. Distillery Manager David Vondrasek will be on-site at the celebration for a special meet-and-greet and to share about 300 Stewart Reserve and answer questions while speaking about its unique and impressive attributes as a 100% corn bourbon.
With only 1,047 375 mL bottles produced, 300 Stewart Reserve is The Underground’s most limited release to date. Bottles are available now for $45.95, and the bourbon is also available neat or on the rocks at The Underground speakeasy, while supplies last.
Since 2018, The Underground distillery has been distilling 100% unaged corn whiskey moonshine. In September 2022, the distillery set out on a mission to create the Museum’s most refined spirit yet, its first-ever bourbon. The process of creating 300 Stewart Reserve began by filling two 53-gallon and one five-gallon, new charred oak barrels (22-001 – 22-003) with the finest cuts of the Museum’s award-winning moonshine. A 100% corn rendition is unusual for a bourbon, but The Underground decided it would be most consistent with its existing practice and what the 300-square-foot distillery is set up to do. After two years of aging, 300 Stewart Reserve earned its distinction of a straight bourbon but was finally complete in February of 2026. Distillery Manager David Vondrasek is available for interviews upon request.
ABOUT THE UNDERGROUND
The Underground is an immersive Prohibition history exhibition featuring a speakeasy, distillery and private VIP room in the basement of The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement. Artifacts from the 1920s and 1930s tell the intriguing story of the Prohibition era, which not only saw a proliferation of bootlegged booze and the meteoric growth of organized crime outfits but also had a profound, lasting impact on society, specifically making way for modern cocktail culture. A seasonal craft cocktail menu gives guests the opportunity to try contemporary takes on classic Prohibition-era cocktails. The menu and atmosphere have landed the speakeasy on several “best cocktail bars in Las Vegas,” “best speakeasies in Las Vegas,” “best date night” and “best hidden bars in Las Vegas” lists. Distillery tastings allow participants to learn about Prohibition and its impact on a variety of spirits and drinking habits while tasting a few of the Museum’s award-winning moonshines. The distilling program has received accolades, including “Best Moonshine” at the 2020 International Whiskey Competition, “Best in Class” and gold and silver medals at the 2024 American Distilling Institute’s International Spirits Competition and gold and silver medals at the 2022, 2023 and 2024 California Craft Spirits Competition.
