THE MOB MUSEUM TO OFFER PROCEEDS FROM SPECIAL EVENINGS, JULY 5 AND JULY 8, TO SUPPORT FRIENDS OF LAS VEGAS METRO POLICE FOUNDATION

Beginning June 26, Museum Will Also Collect Donations for Las Vegas Metro Police Department and Foundation

LAS VEGAS (June 2014) – The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, will be hosting two special evenings of support and appreciation for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD).   On the evenings of July 5 and July 8, members of the public are invited to visit the Museum between 6 and 9 p.m. for a minimum donation of $10 per person, with 100 percent of proceeds going to the Friends of Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation.   A special hospitality suite will also be available for Metro officers and their families on those evenings.

In addition, The Mob Museum will collect donations beginning Thursday, June 26 through July 10, for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation, to support the July 11  Annual Sheriff Salutes the Best of the Badge event honoring LVMPD officers for distinguished service over the past year. The Metro Foundation addresses needs that are underfunded within the LVMPD’s budget, including safety equipment, training, educational outreach, and community partnerships.

“The entire Las Vegas community was devastated by the recent tragedy,” said Jonathan Ullman, executive director, The Mob Museum. “We extend our deepest sympathies to the families of the fallen officers, and are reminded of the great debt we owe to the Metropolitan Police Department.”
