Time: The Mob Museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Location: Open City exhibition located on the second floor.

Description: In the 1950s and ’60s, many Las Vegas and Reno casinos embraced “figural” slot machines – machines that look like human figures. There were cowboys, Native Americans, cocktail waitresses, miners, gangsters and more. Two vintage figural slot machines are now on permanent display inside the vault in the Skim Room on the second floor of the Museum.

The cowboy machine was featured in the Pioneer Club on Fremont Street. The quarter slot looks a lot like the 40-foot-tall Vegas Vic sign, which debuted above the Pioneer Club in 1951 and still towers over Fremont Street today. The bandit machine requires gamblers to pull his gun-toting arm to spin the reels.
