FEBRUARY: MUSEUM ANNIVERSARY

NOVEMBER: KEFAUVER DAY

The audio tours take visitors on a journey through and beyond the Museum’s four floors of exhibits, offering intriguing tales from the Mob’s epic history. With 44 stops, the audio tour allows guests to customize their experience and tailor the information to their interests.

The Museum’s YouTube channel offers a rich array of educational video content, including dozens of recordings of public programs featuring authors and experts discussing everything from Mob history to contemporary criminal justice issues.

EDUCATION OUTREACH
The Mob Museum’s award-winning educational outreach program, Investigating History, brings free or low-cost classroom workshops and auditorium presentations to 4th-12th graders at schools across Southern Nevada. Accompanied by a history trunk with educational artifacts, activities, and resources, a Museum educator leads 45 minute presentations that fulfill Nevada Academic Content Standards and curriculum goals.

The Museum features compelling exhibit spaces available for sponsorship, such as the Historic Courtroom where guests are immersed in a high-tech, multi-screen video production that tells the story of the Kefauver Hearings, Crime Lab, Underground Speakeasy, and our working Distillery. THE UNDERGROUND
The Underground speakeasy and distillery is an immersive Prohibition history exhibit space. Surrounded by artifacts from the 1920s, experience Prohibition-era craft cocktails in our speakeasy and tour our on-site distillery for a taste of the past.

Volunteer Courtroom Attendant
Volunteers in this position provide a welcoming, friendly impression of The Mob Museum by interacting with Museum guests as they learn about our most historic exhibit – the courtroom – site of the Kefauver hearings. Individuals provide a brief overview of the exhibit and interact with guests prior to and after the experience.
Volunteer Greeter
Volunteers in this position provide a welcoming first and lasting impression of The Mob Museum, creating a friendly, hospitable environment and overall rewarding experience for Museum visitors. In this role, individuals are assigned to areas in which they personally welcome and speak to guests.
Underground Host
Volunteers in this position provide a welcoming first and lasting impression of The Mob Museum Speakeasy, creating a friendly, hospitable environment and overall rewarding experience for Museum visitors. In this role, individuals introduce the Underground space and provide directional assistance for guests.
Firearm Training Simulator Host
Volunteers in this position help create a memorable overall event experience for Museum guests by welcoming them to the Firearm Training Simulator, providing an overview of the experience, and having guests fill out waivers and watch an introductory video.
Crime Lab Host
Volunteers in this position assist guests with the interactive experience, answer questions and provide support to the Crime Lab educators.
- The Mob Museum is happy to accept volunteers that are 18 or older.
- The Mob Museum asks that volunteers commit to at least (4) hours of service each month.
- The Mob Museum welcomes volunteers that have a positive attitude, interest in the history of organized crime and law enforcement, and are excited to provide a world-class guest experience to all visitors!
