1978-1981: Dan Tanna (Robert Urich) is a private investigator sometimes tangling with the Mob while living in a former props warehouse owned by the Desert Inn. The design of the warehouse allowed Tanna to drive his convertible 1957 Thunderbird right into his apartment, which apparently was something he liked to do. The ABC series allegedly was inspired by real-life Las Vegas private detective Eddie LaRue. The show was notable for being filmed entirely in Las Vegas and for its impressive list of guest stars, including, for example, Muhammad Ali, and it was created by noted director Michael Mann.
