Goodfellas

Goodfellas

1990: Martin Scorsese, director; starring Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Ray Liotta, Paul Sorvino, Lorraine Bracco. Scorsese’s much-loved take on the book Wiseguy by Mob chronicler Nicholas Pileggi. The film (spoiler alert!) is the story of the fall of a once-formidable crime crew in the 1970s through the eyes of Liotta’s Henry Hill, a real-life associate of the Lucchese family of New York City. It documents the infamous $6 million Lufthansa Airline robbery of 1978 and the resulting mayhem among Lucchese-connected participants.
