Meet your local police. And have fun – take a photo with a cop!

Photo Op with a Cop, a new event at The Mob Museum held in partnership with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Downtown Area Command, encourages residents and families from Las Vegas to meet the police officers that patrol the downtown neighborhoods. The event, open to the entire family, is also a fun and inviting opportunity for families to get pictures with a 1940 vintage patrol car, modern police vehicles, officers and The Pinups for Patriots, a 1950s-styled pinup team.

The purpose of this event, set for 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, is to promote stronger bonds, develop deeper relationships and build trust with LVMPD police officers and the neighborhoods they serve and protect.

“Events like this allow people get to see officers in a different light.  The officers are not enforcing laws or writing tickets; they are engaging the community, having conversations, and playing with kids,” said Denise Stride, crime prevention specialist with LVMPD. “The relationship between officers and residents is very important.  The community needs to feel protected by the police and safe in their neighborhoods. In order for them to feel this way it is vital for citizens to have a good relationship with the police department.”

Be among the first 10 people to attend The Mob Museum’s first Photo Op with a Cop September 19, and receive free admission to the Museum. Don’t worry if you’re No. 11, all guests attending the event will receive $5 off the general admission price in all ticket types.

Pizza Rock, located at Third and Ogden – right down the street from the Museum, also is offering 15% discount on September 19 only for participants to the event. Flyers with the discount will be available at the event to be redeemed for the 15% discount at Pizza Rock.
