John Gotti

The Mob Museum is displaying a red Jaguar, once owned by mobster John Gotti, at Fashion Show Mall from November 16 to December 18. The Mob Museum display includes information about the car and its links to Gotti.

The partnership also includes Mob Mondays from 6-8 p.m. from November 20 to December 18. During this time period, visitors to Fashion Show Mall are eligible for Mob Museum giveaways.

Gotti, boss of New York City’s Gambino crime family in the 1980s, received the 1972 Jaguar XKE convertible as a gift from veteran capo Greg DePalma. DePalma gave the car to Gotti to gain favor with the boss, according to FBI agent Jack Garcia, who was working undercover within the Gambino family at the time. Gotti subsequently gave the car to his wife, Victoria, for their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. The Mob Museum acquired the car from Victoria. Gotti died in prison in 2002. DePalma died in 2009.
