The debut of an updated exhibit and outdoor mural, both illustrating the story of early Las Vegas, will highlight activities honoring Las Vegas History Day. May 15, 1905, is recognized as the birthday of Las Vegas. On this date the recently completed railroad began a two-day auction of lots to create a town — the area we now call downtown Las Vegas. The Museum’s updated exhibit and outdoor mural, both funded in part by Nevada Humanities, will enhance the public understanding of the city’s history before the Mob moved in.

Museum educators will be available during these hours at the exhibit and outdoor mural to provide additional insights and answer any questions. No reservations needed.
