12th Anniversary Free Day: The Tommy Guns of the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre and the Shots Heard Round the World
Join The Mob Museum for an unforgettable celebration on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, as we mark the Museum’s 12th anniversary with a FREE day for Nevada residents! Non-residents will receive buy-one, get-one admission.
To commemorate the anniversary, step back in time with an exclusive showcase of the two Thompson submachine guns that were used in the infamous St. Valentine’s Day Massacre on February 14, 1929. That Valentine’s Day, seven members and associates of the North Side bootlegging gang were lined up against a wall and shot to death by assassins believed to have been hired by Al Capone. These historic firearms will be on display for all to see.
Don’t miss the opportunity to engage with members of the Berrien County, Michigan, Sheriff’s Department, where the firearms currently reside. They’ll be on hand to share insights, discuss the historical significance of the firearms and answer any questions guests may have.
In addition, other St. Valentine’s Day Massacre-related artifacts from our extensive collection will be accessible, providing a captivating glimpse into this pivotal moment in history.
ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES INCLUDE
- 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. | The Las Vegas Cadillac Club Car Show will have a display of historic vehicles.
- 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. | Reformed mobster Frank Calabrese Jr. will share the story of his life with the Chicago Outfit and how he worked with federal law enforcement to take down the criminal organization, which includes his own father, Frank Calabrese Sr.
- 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. | Receive a 10% discount on all food and beverage at The Underground speakeasy and concessions. Excludes bottled moonshine.
- Noon to 4 p.m. | Vitalant Blood Donation will host an onsite blood drive.
- Noon to 4 p.m. | The Goodfellas Grill food truck will be available onsite.
