Longtime Las Vegas investigative reporter Glen Meek and true crime veteran Dennis Griffin collaborated on Wrong Numbers: Call Girls, Hackers, and the Mob in Las Vegas. This new book relates the true story of an FBI undercover operation in which the agent acted as a manager of a real Las Vegas escort service. Meek will be available in the Museum’s retail store to sign copies and answer questions.

The crime caper described in Wrong Numbers involved a New York Mafia family, a slippery computer expert with organized crime connections and a reputed Mob enforcer named Vinnie “Aspirins” Congiusti (known as “Aspirins” because he gets rid of the Mob’s headaches). It’s a story that marks the end of old-school Mob ways, the beginning of computer crime, and how neither the Mafia nor the FBI was prepared yet to deal with the technology revolution.

The book signing is taking place in the retail store.
