THE MOB MUSEUM ANNOUNCES DECEMBER PROGRAMS

LAS VEGAS (November 2018) – The Mob Museum, The National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, announces its roster of public programs for December.

Science of Crime Program: Fire and Forensic Science – The Science of Arson Investigation

DATE: Saturday, December 15

TIME: 2 to 3 p.m.

LOCATION: Organized Crime Today exhibit

COST: Free for Museum Members or with Museum admission

SPEAKER: Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Department

DESCRIPTION: A member of the Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Department will discuss the forensic methods used in fire investigations, from collecting evidence and searching for the origin and cause to determining whether a fire was accidental or deliberate.

Community Safety Forum: Internet and Cell Phone Safety for Children 

DATE: Sunday, December 16

TIME: 2 to 4 p.m.

LOCATION: Courtroom

COST: Free with free admission to Museum following the program

SPEAKER: Detective Sean Taylor, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD)

DESCRIPTION: Each month, The Mob Museum partners with the LVMPD and other local agencies to host Community Safety Forums – free public programs focused on pertinent issues that affect Southern Nevada. In December, the program will address Internet and Cellphone Safety for Children. Attendees will learn how to keep children safe when they use the internet and mobile devices. It will define the types of crimes that take place utilizing the internet and whom to contact if your child is a victim. All Community Safety Forum attendees also receive FREE admission to Museum following the program, sponsored by NV Energy. Also thanks to NV Energy’s generous support, The Mob Museum will provide live streaming of the presentations on its website.

Christmas Hours

DATE: Tuesday, December 25

TIME: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

LOCATION: The Mob Museum

COST: Regular admission rates apply

DESCRIPTION: The Mob Museum will be open for limited hours on Christmas Day, with Santa Claus on hand from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for souvenir photos on the Museum’s line-up wall.

New Year’s Eve Hours

DATE: Monday, December 31

TIME: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

LOCATION: The Mob Museum

COST: Regular admission rates apply

DESCRIPTION: The Mob Museum will be open for limited hours on New Year’s Eve.
