Point Blank

Point Blank

1967: John Boorman, director; starring Lee Marvin, Angie Dickenson. The Mob is all over this 1960s cult favorite based on the novel The Hunter by Richard Stark (Donald E. Westlake). Marvin’s character is in league with another to steal a delivery of a casino skim, but is double-crossed; his effort to recover the money and get his revenge against his former friend, who is now teamed up with a Mob group called “The Organization,” an apparent stand-in for the Chicago Outfit, leads to cross and double-cross. There are surprising twists until the last minute.
