Group Downtown Walking Tours

Walking Tour onlyEnhance your group visit to The Mob Museum by signing up for one of these private and exclusive 90-minute Downtown Walking Tours. These tours are available for groups of 10 or more.

For an additional fee on top of admission, expert Museum guides will lead you on a tour of the many historic locations that tell the story of a city conceived by the railroad and raised on gambling. Hit the highlights – and lowlights – as Las Vegas grew from a railroad whistle stop to Mob colony to international tourist destination. The corner of Fremont and Main is where it all began in 1905 with a land auction that drew hundreds to stake a claim in the desert. Nevada’s legalization of gambling in 1931 triggered a casino boom on Fremont Street that attracted organized crime figures who built and operated iconic clubs such as the Golden Nugget and El Cortez. With the rise of the sprawling megaresorts on the Strip two miles to the south, downtown’s glory faded, but the transformation of Fremont Street into a vibrant pedestrian mall gave it new life in the 1990s. And in the 21st century, new investment in the Fremont East entertainment district has made downtown, once again, a destination for tourists and locals alike. An array of important buildings and locations in and around Fremont Street are within easy walking distance of The Mob Museum, a historic building in its own right where key parts of local history unfolded.

These tours are available for an additional price over general admission. Advance reservation required by calling 702.229.2713.
