The compelling backstory behind the life of Liberace, the well-known, one-of-a-kind performer and celebrity, and his links to the Mob will be revealed as part of The Mob Museum’s Wiseguy Speaker Series set for February 9, 2016, starting at 7 p.m. at the Museum.

Once known as the highest paid entertainer in the world, Liberace’s career and legacy crossed paths with the Mob on at least three significant occasions, according to the event’s speakers – Nicolette Pantaleo, educator with The Mob Museum, and Jonathan Warren with the Liberace Foundation.

    • In 1965, Liberace was the victim of an organized crime blackmail ring.
    • In 1974, the Liberace Tiffany watch heist was possibly stolen in an elaborate, multi-party interstate organized crime cat burglar ring.
    • In 2011, the priest, the hitman and the Liberace Stradivarius uncover mobster involvement in this very unprobable hoax.

Pantaleo and Warren will share the stories and examine artifacts backing each of the claims as part of this event.
