The Godfather, Part III

The Godfather, Part III

1990: Francis Ford Coppola, director; starring Al Pacino, Diane Keaton, Talia Shire, Eli Wallach, Andy Garcia. Made nearly 20 years after the first two Godfather films, this is generally considered a disappointment compared with the earlier work. The plot centers on Michael Corleone’s ongoing efforts to legitimize his crime family as well as a financial scandal plaguing the Vatican. The movie was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, but did not win any. It did, however, win two “Golden Raspberry Awards” or Razzies, for Sofia Coppola, a first-time star in the movie and the director’s daughter.
