THE MOB MUSEUM FEATURES WORKS OF WORLD-CLASS FILM-MAKERS

Industry leading firms produce films, exhibits and interactive experiences

LAS VEGAS (Dec. 2011) — Four leading multi-media and interactive firms of national renown have created films, exhibits and interactive experiences for The Mob Museum that will open on Valentine’s Day 2012 in downtown Las Vegas.

According to Dr. Dennis Barrie, The Museum’s creative director whose previous credits include the International Spy Museum in Washington, DC and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, this group represents the country’s most innovative and creative digital film-makers. “This is an all-star team in the world of digital media, experience designers and interactive, multi-media specialists,” said Barrie. “Their resumes include the best and most engaging attractions and museums in the world today. We are thrilled to have them on the Mob Museum team.”

They include:

  • Snibbe Interactive, a social immersive media firm headquartered in San Francisco, California whose signature projects include unique interactive exhibits for the California Academy of Sciences, The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia and The Exploratorium in San Francisco.
  • Northern Light Productions, a film production company headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts that was recently chosen to produce a film for the September 11 Memorial. The company has produced hundreds of award-winning documentaries on issues of global concern, including wars, social issues and other pertinent topics of world-wide interest.
  • AVI-SPL, provider of audiovisual and presentation solutions, is headquartered in Tampa, Fla., with nearly 40 offices around the world, including Las Vegas. NV. As the largest global integrator for audio and video communications systems and services, AVI-SPL is uniquely positioned to deliver the most comprehensive line-up of presentation collaborative solutions, including: managed conferencing, systems integration, sales and rentals, complete staging and production, managed conferencing, IP integration and event management. Signature projects include the Dubai Mall, Yankee Stadium and City Center.
  • Boston Productions, Inc., a multi-media firm that specializes in media design, interactive software development, film production, immersive experiences and AV integration. The firm’s signature projects feature robust immersive interactive experiences including Operation Spy for the International Spy Museum; Black Holes: Space Warps & Time Twists for the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics; The Hershey Story; and the College Basketball Experience.

The exhibits, designed by Gallagher & Associates, a renowned design firm that creates visitor experiences and graphic packages for public and private museums throughout the country, are highly experiential and encourage interaction with visitors, according to Barrie. Exhibit subject matter covers a broad range of mob-related topics from the perspective of both mobsters and law enforcement. Exhibit installation is well underway and nearing completion.

The Mob Museum is housed inside the city’s historic former federal courthouse and U.S. Post Office at 300 Stewart Avenue in downtown Las Vegas and is set to open on February 14, 2012. The 41,000-square-foot buildin includes approximately 17,000 square feet of exhibition space on three floors in addition to a specialty retail store, special event areas, educational areas and office space.

Admission is $18 plus tax for adults ages 18 and over; $12 plus tax for children ages 5 to 17 and students ages 18 to 23 with ID; $14 plus tax for seniors, military, law enforcement and teachers; and $10 plus tax for Nevada residents of all ages.
